Organizations / companies

Organizations continuously change even though it may seem they don’t… Florescat considers every moment as new and fresh and the organizational circumstances as unique. Awareness of what is happening now, how people are acting and the pressure that is coming from the outside world, is important for understanding the past (evaluation) and for future (planning).

People

We all have a drive to act on what is (in) us – our talents, interests and possibilities -   and to bring ourselves out into the world and in the work we do. We are usually willing to go along with changes and new projects within organizations and like advice about the ‘how to’ esp. when it concerns our work directly. Acceptance of continuous change and if possible improvement is necessary while taking into account whatever limits there are, on a personal, organizational, social and environmental level.

Philosophy

We are all part of major changes, either in the world at large or in our daily life and work; we bring them about! Changes themselves, within information technology and globalization, seem to speed up: we know more, we can do more, and many people have more than past generations. Because so much seems possible we expect a lot of our technological means. Yet we seem to bump into some boundaries. We don’t know everything, not everything is in our control. Reality is a complex phenomenon and with the speeding up of change, to be in 'control' seems ever more difficult.

“The enormous grow of scientific knowledge and the spectacular increase of technological means of control in the past few decades, have hardly helped us with coping with the moral complexity of the world we live in. The contrary seems to be the fact. The exact illusions lead us to push the complexity away when the reduction of these factors is not successful.” (Harry Kunneman in Filosofie Magazine, November 2003, translation Florescat).

If that is so, what to do? How to live, how to be and how to experience? How to analyze..? A possible answer invites us to look deep into our view of the world:

"There is a vision of (..) the emerging paradigm (..). It seems to include the assumption of consciousness as being causal, a basis of wholeness and system thinking, and dependence on inner wisdom and authority rather than on the senses and outer proof as in the current paradigm. Rather than believing it only when we see it, the emerging viewpoint seems to be that we will see it when we believe it - shifting the locus of control from the outside to the inside."  (Michael Ray, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, in 'The Process of paradigm shift', internet).
